Our Team.
By Mike Yewdell
Mike Yewdell
Is the first part of this amazing story. When Mike was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, he had no idea that his fight would turn into something like this. After 3 failed chemo’s and 2 failed clinical trials, it was the BEAM treatment that ended up saving his life. He had no idea that through his journey, he would meet such incredible people that too, fought this horrendous disease. He had no idea that these people would become so close to him. He had no idea that they would join a Cycle for Survival team and raise money for the same disease we all are fighting. He had no idea that they would raise over $300,000 and counting.
Chelsea Carpenter
Miss UNSTOPPABLE!! Since the day Chelsea found out she was diagnosed with Cancer, she did not waiver. She woke up every morning with the most beautiful smile showing the world, she is UNSTOPPABLE.
Lizzy Stein
Our superstar from last year, Lizzy showed the world that Cancer is a blessing and not a curse. Lizzy showed her family and friends what is important in life with her fight. After starting “Smiling and Fighting,” she helped inspire others and be there for people who are also battling this horrible disease. The most beautiful thing here is that even in such dark times, I have never seen anyone so positive in my life. I was fortunate enough to be welcomed in the infusion room on day 1 and I can tell you, Lizzy spent the 7 hours of chemo smiling and showing me that she will never let this disease win.
Rachel Benowich
Showed the world that “a smile is free.” Rachel battled this disease with just that...a smile. She was dealt a very tough situation but never did that affect her positivity. She showed us all what a smile can do. Not a day goes by without remembering how amazing you are Rachel, how special you were to so many, and that...putting on a smile can alter the way your entire day feels. We miss you so much and love you even more!
Dave Pilet
An incredible soul and an incredible fighter, Dave showed his family that he would not let Cancer decide how he was going to live. He showed Cancer that winning is how you live your life and not by beating this disease. We are all so incredibly lucky to have had Dave in our lives and we hope that one day we will be able to find answers to the disease that took yours. We love you so much!
Angela Snow
Another new member to the team representing BEAM on the west coast. Angela looked Cancer in the face and used her fight to show everyone that Cancer doesn't stand a chance against a positive attitude. With each chemo appointment or as Angela would put it, “Chemo Spa Day,” she beat down the disease without missing a beat in life. We are so lucky to have you on this team!
Anthony Gervaise
A true BEAMMATE in every sense of the word. Anthony was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma as well but his story is a tad different. He was able to put his Cancer into remission but unfortunately that Cancer came back months later. This is when he was forced to undergo a Stem Cell Transplant and get the BEAM treatment. Anthony is now on the road to recovery and his Cancer is back in remission.
Zack Jenis
Is one of the strongest fighters we have ever come across - battling not one, but two cancers at once. Never did Zack let Cancer win and though a long battle and several surgeries, Zack is able to live a healthy life with the incredible fresh perspective Cancer leaves.
Rebecca Greenblatt
The newest member of the team bringing the most beautiful smile and most courageous attitude when battling. She was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma early in this year and with recent great news, is looking to live a long healthy life. Rebecca had a very tough fight but not one day went by without her staying positive and staying strong!
